Hail to the king!

I'm finally breaking down and reviewing a film starring the most popular of all kaiju. Something that people have been bugging me about since I first started making reviews. Most people probably already know of whom I speak but for those that don't. I'll be reviewing a film from the Godzilla movie series. More specifically "The Return of Godzilla" or for those more familiar with the english version, "Godzilla 1985". Now, I've purposely been putting these movies off for reasons that will be explained during the review. As its been over a year now since KMR first debuted, we feel we've made the fans wait long enough. Hopefully you all are as ecstatic as I am about finally being able to review one of the "King's" movies. Keep yours eyes open and let me know what you think.

Tennessee, oh Tennessee

I think we are all firmly situated in this lovely state. I've also managed to dig out all my kaiju movies but one seems to be missing. Lucky for me its nothing to worry about for a while. Tonight I'm hoping to watch Matango to get the review under way. The only thing that may delay me is some of the guidelines my in laws are enforcing. But if I do it late enough at night then it shouldn't be a problem. I'll keep ya'll posted on whats going on.

Upcoming reviews....is the world really going to end?

Yes, I've decided I should tease you guys a bit with some of my upcoming reviews :D. This is the order these movies will be released in, but the dates are kind of tenative. Hopefully one of the reviews on this list really catches your attention. As its something I've been saying I was going to do for a long time and alot of people have asked me about ;D.

Happy Birthday, KMR!!!

I know its a bit late but KMR is officially 1 year old. Though it doesn't feel like I have been doing it a year. For some reason I just didn't remember it, probably because as I said earlier it didn't feel like a year. Thanks for all you fans who have been watching my show and keeping me afloat.

More trouble ahead, and a spot of good news.

As I mentioned in my previous post, my computer decided to stop working just so I had to re-install windows on it. Not too long after that, Monday to be exact. The harddrive in the laptop completely fried. Lucky for me it is still under warranty so a new one is on the way to my house. Since all this is going down I've been using my wifes laptop and our desktop to take care of stuff. There was something that was I was working on before the harddrive went out but obviously that is gone now. One of my friends G2kMaster is working on a script for me right now so that is something you guys can look forward too.

Other than that, The family and I are moving to Tennessee at the end of this month. That could cause further delays in any new material being released as I've been spending a lot of time getting ready for the move. Now for a spot of good news, as long finances are good the wife and I will be at G-fest this year. If any of you readers are going be sure to let me know. This will be my first time and it would be nice to have a little help.

Oh great! That couldn't have happened at a better time!

So things have slowed down for me a bit. No movie or figure reviews in the works right now. Possibly dude to a lack or inspiration or because the family and I are moving at the end of the month. Needless to say the latter has been taking up a great deal of my time. But for some reason life decided to throw me a bit of a curve ball the other day. While browsing the internet late one night, my comp decided to freeze up. No big deal, its only the second time thats ever happened. If only I knew at the time. After hours and hours of tinkering over the next few days it came back to life and the real kicker. Everything on the harddrive was gone. All my videos, title cards, music, all gone. Not sure whats all going to happen at this point. But I can assure you I will continue to make videos. Right now I'm trying to re-organize my collection of software and such to get back on my feet. Unsure how long that is going to take. Then I'll be moving out of state at the end of the month which will be another set back. Hopefully I can get some kind of new content to you guys before then though.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up. Keep posted for any further updates.

Kaiju Showcase epi 1

Decided to take the time and step up my figure reviews a bit. Just wish I would have been paying a little more attention while doing it. Didn't get the camera pointed right so you can see some of the wall in the corner of the frame. Also Windows Movie Maker decided to be awesome and hack of some of the lettering in the credits. Oh well, I thought it turned out ok. Guess you can't make it perfect in the little bit of time I had.

Luckily I had the help of two very awesome youtubers on this video also. KaijuNoMura, who does figure reviews of his own. Created the intro to the show, the stop motion he did was amazing as usual. Then bboynoe allowed me to use some of his music for the opening and credits. He usually does video game covers and is a fantastic guitar player. I'm very grateful to these to and it was aweful nice of them to help me out with this.

Well any who, the figure I reviewed for this video. Is the 1983 Bandai Bemular figure. This was the first original 83' toy that I got complete with tag. Thats one I've been wanting to review for a while. There will be a bit of a delay on the next video as there is something I need to take care of. Hope ya'll enjoy the film.

Originally I planned on doing a different figure for my second review. However I didn't have my DVD's on had at the time and I didn't want to do the review without video. I'll probably review that figure next time. Hope you enjoy this review.

Kaiju Quickie - The Fly (1986)

Steph surprised me with a review of the 80's remake of "The Fly". Take a look at it if you get a chance and enjoy.

Since I have been having trouble getting the motivation to make another movie review. I thought I would give a figure review a go. There will probably be more of these in the future. Hopefully it will help tide some of you over until I get around to doing Matango.

Upcoming Review: Matango (1963)

Again sorry the not having a review last week but I just wanted to relax a bit before the big weekend. My birthday was yesterday on the 21st which was still a nice day. Enough of that, the next movie I will be reviewing was requested by my wife long ago and I am just now getting around to it (Sorry!). Not a whole lot of monster action in this one but definitely a fantasticly, different film.

Birthday Delay

Kaiju Quickie - The Beast of Hollow Mountain (1956)

Stephanie is back at it with her review of the 1956 cowboy, dinosaur drama "The Beast of Hollow Mountain". Why anybody thought mixing cowboys and dinosaurs was a good idea is beyond me. But I let her tell you about it and not me.

First viewer request so far and some how I feel it didn't turn out as well as it should have. So nero2kewl, I apologize if its not the best. Upcoming Review: The Giant Gila Monster (1959)

Hot rods, giant lizards and irresponsible teen. Sound like the recipe for a 50's B movie and in fact that is what we get. A very low budget film even for the time, they went as far as using a real gila monster along side minatures. The review should be out by the end of the week. This review was requested by Nero2kewl.

Upcoming review: Gamera vs + News

As most of you probably know by now the next movie will be "Gamera tai Shinkai Kaijū Jigura". The 7th and last true showa Gamera movie. I just watched it for the first time ever earlier this morning. Not to spoil too much I will go as far as saying I was pleased. The Video should be up by the end of the week so keep your eyes peeled.

I got a bit of good news for everyone. Over the past couple of days a new member was added to the "staff" of KMR. She goes by the name of Goji_Girl and she will be going art and graphics for the show as well as some other things she is working on. I would like to thank her for joining us and we look forward to having her around for a while. A video announcement will follow this message :D.

There isn't much I can say about this review that I don't already mention during the video. It took me a bit more time than I thought but it was well worth it. I will do a post review entry because there are a few things I need to address about the video, but I am a bit too tired to really think about it right now.. Since its been quite a while...8 episodes in fact, since I have reviewed a toho picture. Originally "The Giant Gila Monster" was slated for review next, I forgot that I loaned it out and had to think of something to fill in for the time being. But I'm pretty sure no one if going to complain over the substitution of Rodan. The video should be up later this up coming week so keep your eyes open. :D:D:D

Season 2, episodes 13 & 14

For season 2 I decided to change the format of my videos. I've gotten mixed opinions on this change but the majority seem to like it. The new format of videos are long and go into greater detail than those of season one, episode 12 excluded. Generally I like to be some what serious with my reviews as the genre of movies I review are alrighted considered laughable by a large majority of people. The main exceptions to this are the beginning of my episodes in which I start with a small skit that may or may not be relavent to the actually review. Stayed tuned for future updates.
